Now, is there someone special that you should thank for going “the extra mile” just for you? Did a fellow performer introduce you to their agent? Did a casting director at an audition take a little extra time to work just with you? When you were on set did a fellow cast member offer you some sage advice?

Why not pull out 10 of your photo postcards, note cards, or locate 10 emails of people in your ActorTrack database that you want to reach out and thank right now? This simple and inexpensive act of gratitude is sure to mean a lot to the receiver of your thanks. They may not even realize that what they did helped, motivated or inspired you. In fact, you may never know how this “thank you” could inspire them to keep on doing whatever it is that made them stand out in your mind.

We are often asked in seminars for some crafty  and unique ways to say thanks. If there’s special someone who you want to send a tangible gift to, you might consider:

• a redeemable coupon to see you in an upcoming performance
• a lottery ticket
• a gift card for a cup of coffee/tea or for their favorite online music store
• a scented candle
• a chocolate bar or other sweet treat (we are fans of these lovely desserts made by ActorTrack owner Gwen McGee)
• a gift that encourages their career interest (like a Holdon Log!) or hobby, like a magazine subscription
• a customized gift, perhaps an ornament like here

Remember, any gift under $25.00, per year, per person in the US is a tax-deduction. So if there’s someone on your list who is also an outstanding person to your other performer friends why not think outside-of-the-box and collectively select a gift that might be cost-prohibitive for you, but great if everyone went in on purchasing it together? For instance:
